I started to detail the U.S.S. Kelvin addition. Inspired by the ship with the same name from the New Star Trek movie. Most of the neck section is done I just need to add windows. I don’t know if I’ll add windows to the secondary hull or not. I’ll have to play around a bit to see how it looks.

And while messing around I thought about another idea based on another ship from the new movie. This ship is hardly seen but looked cool none the less. this is my version. The U.S.S. Velociraptor. This is just a rough version, I can already see the changes I would need to make if I decided to go with it.

While roaming through the net one day I came across this image from Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. This could be one of the most disturbing images I’ve seen in a long time and I’ve seen some fucked up shit. This actually gives me hope for a new Tim Burton movie I just hope the script is anyway near as cool as this image. I would certainly hate to see this thing looking at me one night from the foot of my bed. 😉

I think I've finished detailing this part of the ship. Want to keep it simple. I also added two disrupters to the top of the blade.
And this is how it looks from below and behind.

Back in 2001 I had my first idea for a Federation civil War but it didn’t involve section 31 like my newer idea does. This set of pictures show how one side might get new ships by sending out distress calls and with the use of stolen Klingon ships hi-jack any ships that come along. Like these two poor Akiras in these pics. The idea wasn’t all that great then and I kind of lost interest and stopped after six pictures.
The first and probably favorite picture in the series of pictures. I like how the Akiras look and how the Anaconda class shuttles look swarming around them.
This shot was really nothing but an attempt to show of these ships.
Here I wanted a shot of the two Akiras approaching the Cheyenne.
Here the two Akiras close in on what they believe to be the crippled Cheyenne. In the right lower corner you can see a stolen Klingon Bird Of Prey begin to decloak.
The two Klingon ships are now fully decloaked and ready to attack.
In this, the last image. The stolen Klingon ships start to fire on the the two Akira class ships. Not to destroy them but to take them as their own. If I had continued the story the Cheyenne would have woken convincing the Akiras to give up.

The Saladin Class ship is done so I did up some orthos for it.
“That’s a cute outfit. Did your husband give it to you.”
Well I finally got around to seeing the new Star Trek Movie again. That’s right I said again. I saw it the day it opened and I thought I’d wait to see it again. I also thought I’d wait till everyone else spouted off their opinions before I opened my mouth. Well since I did see it twice you can say I liked it and I did very much. I don’t go to the cinema often and I don’t do it see the same movie unless I really liked it. The last time I did that was with all three Lord Of The Rings movies.
Some people complained about the use of lens flares. Personally I didn’t really notice them except in a few instances but it didn’t bother me any. Some people complained about shaky cam, didn’t even notice it. The new Enterprise, don’t have a problem with it. It’s not as ugly as other ships like the Enterprise C and D. It’s not as ugly as Voyager or the Dauntless or the Relativaty.
The actors are all brilliant most notably Bruce Greenwood as Captain Pike.
Faran Tahir as Captain Robauis great in the little screen time he has and I would have liked a movie or show about him and the U.S.S. Kelvin.
Chris Pine as Kirk works well for me. He handled both the comedy and drama elements very well and the chemistry with Zachary Quinto’s Spock works.
Simon Pegg as Montgomery Scott although he doesn’t show up untill a little later into the movie he does a great job.
Zachary Quinto is Spock nuff said. He may not have the cool voice like Nimoy but he fits the part perfectly.
Karl Urban was the one guy I was the most unsure of. Considering he’s anything but a thin southern gentleman but damn he is good, it’s almost like seeing a young Deforrest Kelley again. He very fun to watch with Pine. You really get a sence for how Kirk and Bones become such great friends.
I won’t bother with the rest of the characters because I never though they were all that great anyway. easily replaceable with anyone else.
The bridge set is fine I don’t think anything is wrong with it. The engineering section is a little odd at first but you get used to it unless you just want to obsess about things you don’t like about this movie.
Alot of people don’t consider this Star Trek but at it’s core it very much is Star Trek. They are just to busy looking at all the things they don’t like that they don’t pay attention to the core idea of the film, family and friends and protecting the ones who mean the most to us. For me that’s Star Trek.
I for one am so glad they destroyed Vulcan and killed Spocks mother. This says to me that all bets are off and anything could happen. Unlike the shows and movies I never really felt that the characters where in any real danger. One of the funny things are the people who are still calling this movie a failure. It’s made over 230 million dollars at the box office. Making it the highest grossing Trek movie and the highest grossing movie this year. Hardly a failure.
Well I’m losing my train of thought so all I’m gonna say is yes I liked this movie, it’s one of my favorites.

Here is another old image from 2007. This is based on an early warp ship design by Masao Okazaki. But the ship was designed before the show Enterprise came on.
